Thanks to the generous donations of community members like you, the Spirit Skate Park has been well used and much loved this summer season and today new signage was installed at the park.

The Spirit Skate Park is officially reopened!

Thank you to all of or amazingly generous donors and volunteers. In particular, our heartfelt appreciation to Bob and Carole Carr and Don and Miriam Shumway, whose sons this park is dedicated to and whom have committed countless hours doing construction and painting.

Many hands make light work. Thanks to all the volunteers who joined us today for the first round of work - taking off the damaged boards, repairing he plywood, and staining.

PARK UPDATE: The original skate park designer, Frank Sparrow, has agreed to do the repair work. Skate lite has been ordered, and next Saturday the labor of taking off the damaged boards and repairing the wood support structures underneath begins. We are working to get Spirit Skate Park repaired and reopened as soon as possible, and hope to do so before school is out for the summer. Stay tuned!

GREAT NEWS! With the generosity of online and by mail donors - individuals and businesses - we have reached our $15,000 goal! All funds raised above and beyond the amount needed for initial repairs will be saved in a segregated fund for future maintenance of the Spirit Skate Park. Thank you all for your support -we are so thankful!

UPDATE: Thanks to the generosity of nearly 193 individuals, families, and businesses we have raised $13,285 so far to repair, reopen, and maintain the Spirit Skate Park. We would LOVE to reach our full goal of $15,000 by the 2016 Hopkinton Town Meeting this Saturday, March 12. Your donation - of any amount - will help us reach that goal. Thank you!
