We made it through the first week of preschool! 👏🏼 And what an AMAZING week it has been!

A HUGE KUDOS to our incredible children, their wonderful families, and our amazing staff! Everyone has done such a fantastic job navigating this exciting first week together. 🌟

We’ve spent the week getting to know one another, learning classroom routines, exploring our new spaces, making new friends, learning, playing, and discovering all the wonderful things our classrooms have to offer! 🖍️📚✨

The smiles, curiosity, bravery, and excitement we’ve seen this week have made our hearts so happy. We are incredibly proud of EVERYONE for making this first week such a success!

A new school year means new faces, familiar faces, and a whole lot of excitement! We are SO happy to introduce our amazing Crayon Clubhouse staff, both our returning team members and those who are joining our family for the first time!

Each member of our team brings something truly special to Crayon Clubhouse. From their creativity and patience to their kindness, dedication, laughter, and love for children, they each add something unique to our center.

Most importantly, they enrich the lives of the children entrusted to us each and every day. They help our little ones learn, grow, feel loved, build confidence, and create memories that will last far beyond their time in our classrooms.

We are incredibly grateful for every single person who makes up our Crayon Clubhouse family. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things this team will accomplish together! 🖍️

Can you believe it? We are just a few days away from the start of a brand-new school year!

We are so excited to welcome our new and returning preschool friends and families
to Crayon Clubhouse and begin another year filled with learning, growing, exploring, friendships, and lots of fun! 🫶

Today was all about color, creativity, and self-expression! Our kiddos had so much fun creating their very own tie-dye masterpieces. 💜💙💛💚

Activities like this give children the freedom to make choices, experiment, and express their unique ideas. There’s no “right” way to create, just opportunities to explore, discover, and proudly say, “I made this!” 🎨✨

🫧💦 Foam, Water & LOTS of Fun! 💦🫧

Today was our Foam Party & Water Day, and WOW… the kids had a blast! The giggles, squeals of delight, and pure excitement were absolutely heartwarming! What a fun-filled day! 💙

But even our silliest days are filled with learning! Fun, hands-on experiences like these encourage social interaction, sensory exploration, coordination, confidence, problem-solving, and cooperation. Children are building skills, making memories, and learning through play, all while simply having FUN! 🫧💦

Because sometimes the best learning happens when you’re laughing, playing, and getting a little bit wet! ☀️💙

Myth vs. Fact 🧩

❌ MYTH: “They’re just playing all day.”

✅ FACT: Play is the work of childhood.

When children build with blocks, they’re exploring math, engineering, and problem-solving.

When they create art, they’re strengthening fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression.

When they pretend in dramatic play, they’re building language, social skills, empathy, and confidence.

When they explore nature, care for classroom pets, or investigate a new study, they’re becoming scientists by asking questions, making observations, and discovering how the world works.

At Crayon Clubhouse, our days are intentionally planned with meaningful, hands-on experiences that encourage children to think, create, collaborate, and grow. While it may look like “just play,” every activity has a purpose and supports important developmental milestones.

Because when children are engaged, curious, and having fun… that’s when some of the greatest learning happens. ❤️

Today’s outdoor discovery had everyone buzzing with excitement! 🐛✨

During outdoor play, we spotted this fuzzy little friend—a Hickory Tussock Moth caterpillar! We admired it from a safe distance, asked lots of questions, made predictions, and wondered where it was headed and what it would become.

A few fun facts we learned:
🤍 Its fuzzy white hairs with black markings help protect it from predators.
🦋 It will eventually transform into a beautiful Hickory Tussock Moth.
⚠️ Although it looks soft and cuddly, its tiny hairs can irritate skin, so we practiced being respectful observers by looking, not touching.

Moments like these remind us that some of the greatest learning happens naturally. Outdoor discoveries spark curiosity, encourage scientific thinking, and inspire children to ask questions about the amazing world around them. We can’t wait to see what we’ll discover next! 🌿💚

🌱 Our gardens are flourishing! 🌱

Our little gardeners have been busy checking on our plants, watering them, and watching them grow each day. We have cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, and even watermelons thriving in our garden!

Today, we were excited to harvest some fresh onions and cucumbers to enjoy together. 🍅🥒

Gardening gives children so much more than fresh produce—it teaches patience, responsibility, observation skills, and an appreciation for where our food comes from. We are so proud of the care and dedication our little learners have shown throughout this growing adventure! 💚
