Little Miss Lacey was found in Oconee County, South Carolina. When she was found she was very thin and had been hit by a car. Crossroads Animal Rescue (in Clemson, SC) took her in and quickly performed an exam to see how bad the accident was. It was determined that she had a broken leg on her right side and muscle/ligament injuries to her left rear leg. She has made great progress since we have been treating her and is on the road to recovery. She will still need splint changes and wound care for several more weeks, which we thankfully have had generous donors provide for.
Unfortunately, Lacey has tested positive for heartworms, a parasite that lives in the lungs and heart and can be fatal if not treated. We are hoping to raise money for her treatment for the heartworms! We are hoping to raise $400 to cover the costs of her heartworm treatment, spay, and vaccines. We want to do our best to get this sweet girl healthy and as good as new!

Thank you to everyone who supported Paws for a Cause! The event was a great success with 5 dogs adopted and 2 cats. With your help the event manages to raise a total of $1,175 to be split between Catering to Cats and Dogs and Ruff Life Animal Rescue! This would not have been possible without the help of so many great people. Thank you for helping make my capstone project what I hoped it would be and supporting these two life saving animal rescues.
