CabCo KIDSPLUS “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.? All of our programs are 5-Star childcare centers!

Each KIDS:PLUS Program is licensed through the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child Development. KIDS:PLUS believes all students should receive quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. The KIDS:PLUS staff recognizes each student as an individual and believes that much of a child’s self-image is developed over many years. We believe students learn through play and interaction and offer materials and activities that are age appropriate. We continually adapt our programs to best facilitate growth in a student’s development regardless of his/her age or stage of development. KIDS:PLUS offers both before and after school care, Special Day Programs on teacher workdays, some school holidays, and during the summer. We welcomed our 4-H Leader Ms. Beverly to teach us all about 4-H and what it means to be a 4-H member. Friday fun at A.T. Allen Kids Plus!

We ended the week with some indoor sand play. The kids enjoyed digging, building, creating, and using their imaginations while playing together. It was a fun way to explore, create, and enjoy some hands-on sensory play before heading into the weekend.

This week at AT Allen Kids Plus, children have been busy preparing for our upcoming 4-H Officer Elections!

Our children are stepping up, running for officer positions, organizing their materials, and learning what it means to take on a leadership role within their 4-H club.

Next week, it’s time to vote! We’re excited to see our young leaders put their leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills into action as they participate in the election process.

We are so proud of our children for stepping up, getting involved, and giving leadership a try!

This week at AT Allen Kids Plus, we had fun learning more about 4-H through crafts inspired by the 4-H Pledge!

Our kids created two special clover crafts:

Handprint Clover: Each handprint represents one of the four H’s — **Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.**

Puzzle Clover: Each puzzle piece represents one of the four H’s, showing how Head, Heart, Hands, and Health all fit together to make the 4-H experience complete.

These crafts gave our kids a fun, creative way to connect with the meaning behind the **4-H Pledge** and what each of the four H’s represents.

This week we celebrated "Dolly Parton". The children learned all about "Dolly's" life growing up and how her mom made her a coat of many colors using different materials. This week at A.T. Allen Kids Plus, we got creative with upcycling! Our students learned how everyday items can be reused and transformed into something new and useful instead of being thrown away. They even enjoyed them and the dramatic play area. 

Through this activity, we connected with 4-H by using creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning to explore ways we can help care for our environment. The kids discovered that with a little imagination, something old can become something amazing!
