Whether it’s finding a quiet corner to decompress or recognizing when they just need a breather, our students are trusted and encouraged to take care of their own needs. We believe that self-care and self-regulation shouldn't be skills you have to wait until adulthood to practice. By giving kids the freedom to pause, we empower them to build healthy habits that last a lifetime. 🌱✨

Today at DVS, staff helped students with some awesome craft projects. We even had a student choose to get officially certified to use sharp tools! Just another day of fostering independence and responsibility in our self-directed community. 🌟
