Unfortunately, this post is not sponsored. In fact, I pay to have access to this resource for my students, and I highly recommend it! This website has stories, worksheets, games, videos, and activities for students from preschool to eighth grade. A few resources can also be used each month for free. Make sure you head over and check out what might be helpful for your student!

Yesterday was the first day of spring, and here in North Carolina, the warm weather is certainly upon us. Exploring nature and making observations with your student of any age is a great way to begin the season. Remember, education isn't only done in books and structured experiments. Educatoin is ready to be experienced all around us!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! One thing I find to be really fun about this holiday is how much it lends itself to sensory play. Green kinetic sand with gold coins mixed in, stirring rainbow colors into shaving cream, playing with green water beads, and using yellow-dyed pasta to scoop into "pots of gold" come to mind right away. Sensory play lays an excellent foundation for scientific thinking in the future, so if you have little ones, this is a fabulous time to take advantage and be festive!

This book list might be my favorite one yet! I have genuinely enjoyed these books, both as a tutor and as a reader. Many deal with important themes in an interesting and understandable way, and I just can't get enough!

Happy ! This is a great day to do themed activities with your kids - crafts, games, or poems! For this tip, try writing a poem with your child about someone or something they love. Another idea is to have each family write their own, then share the love! Let's get mushy!

Happy National Periodic Table Day! Did you know...the periodic table was first developed by a Russian chemist named Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869? He even left blank spots for elements yet to be discovered. Pretty smart! Today, for , check out some at-home experiments to do with your student at home to celebrate all the amazing advances science has made!
