Get to know your principal, Comstock ISD!

We have officially wrapped up our first week of school, and what a GREAT week it has been! 🎉 Our whole staff is thrilled to have Mrs. Valerie Yeschke (pronounced “yes key”) here and have already enjoyed getting to know her and working alongside her. We are excited to see all that this new school year holds!

Mr. Tarango, secondary math teacher, appreciates Mrs. Yeschke’s leadership as we begin the school year. “The principal is pulled in many directions, but Mrs. Yeschke, even though she is very busy, takes the time to listen to our concerns and suggestions. I believe Comstock is blessed to have her.”

Although Mrs. Yeschke prefers to stay out of the spotlight, we thought it would be fun to let our families and followers get to know her a little better:

🍴 Favorite Food: ANY! (She’s not picky!)
🐝 Hobby: Assistant beekeeper
⚡ Something that might surprise you: She has been struck by lightning!
🍽️ First Job: Sirloin Stockade
❤️ Why Comstock? Mrs. Yeschke attended school here for five years and made lifelong friendships. She loves small schools, and Comstock is truly near and dear to her heart.
🎶 Favorite Music: She loves all kinds of music and is an avid listener of KLOVE!
📚 Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
✏️ Favorite Subject: Writing
➗ Least Favorite Subject: Math
🏖️ Favorite Vacation Spot: Wherever her family is at the time!

We are so thankful to have Mrs. Yeschke leading our school! We’re looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together.

You may need a rest after reading about what some of our students accomplished today! 😅

From learning about pasture management on a Range & Wildlife field trip this morning, to serving lunch for field day attendees and presenters, to dressing in official FFA attire and presenting at the school board meeting tonight, our Comstock agriculture students are already making an impact!

They’re gaining hands-on knowledge, stepping into leadership roles, and representing our school with confidence and pride. 🌱🐄🎤

Not bad for Day 2 of the school year! We can’t wait to see what these students accomplish next! 💚

🚌 A very special first bus ride!

When kindergartener Justin started school yesterday, one of the things he was most excited about was getting to ride the school bus. Today, that wish came true, and he absolutely loved every minute of it!

Justin rode alongside our 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Hodges, who happily shared in his excitement over every little detail of the experience. Our elementary bus driver, Mrs. Maria, even sang The Wheels on the Bus with him and stayed after drop-off for a picture to help commemorate his special day.

It may have been just a bus ride, but for Justin, it was a big adventure. And moments like this are a beautiful reminder of what makes Comstock so special.

It’s the people who make Comstock a special place to be. 💚🐾

🚌 Bus update for tomorrow: the Trav-L-Park bus will leave at 6:50 AM and the later stops will be 5 minutes later than they were today.
