In 2015, I started researching what it would take to start my own business. I enjoyed sewing for my family so much, that I wanted to share my love for making handmade items with others as well! I started the process toward starting My Lovely Muse in 2016 and finally opened my shop in January 2017! I'm so happy to be here to provide handmade items made with love for yourselves and your loved ones!

My Lovely Muse started as a handcrafted clothing business with a focus on trendy yet comfortable styles for women and children. While we still offer some clothing including custom leggings and other ready-to-ship listings, we focus largely on eco-conscious housewares including cloth napkins, reusable snack and sandwich bags, beeswax wraps, reusable straws, reusable straw pouches, organic cotton mesh produce bags, bulk bags, mending kits, etc. We utilize natural and organic materials to make a lighter impact on our earth. In addition to current listings, custom orders and seamstress services may be accepted throughout the year. Alterations and most custom clothing requests are on hold while I focus my energy on creating products and teaching workshops that empower you with sustainable skills.

It's ✨ Hibernation Season ✨ and it feels like it with this cold and snow we're having in Michigan! I plan on taking it slow and easy for the next few months. In fact, I bought a couple face cords of wood and have been having a daily fire in my fireplace, snuggling up with a book and my dog and watching the snow fall and the fire crackle while relaxing. (See photo of my sweet we**ie dog Finley laying on his heated blanket while roasting in front of the fireplace 😍).

There will be some classes and of course monthly mending circle (January marked 2 years of monthly mending circles at the Georgetown Township Public Library!) before markets start back up in May. Of course, the website is always available for you to make purchases (maybe some supplies to do some winter beeswax wrap making???) and to check out upcoming events.

Let me know how you're planning on slowing down and relaxing during these cold, dark months, even if it isn't a full blown hibernation. 😴
