She was recognized by the Ohio State Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge for her significant contributions as a researcher, scholar, teacher, and mentor. Since joining the university in 2019, Li has developed a highly successful research program in the areas of electrochemistry, bio-integrated electronics, and biosensing.

Luo has promoted integrated learning in materials processing through classroom, laboratory and simulation-based instruction. His work has enhanced light-metal manufacturing across the automotive sector and strengthened the link between materials research and industrial practice.
