Mark making teaches young children how to hold a pen and/or other writing tools correctly. It supports their physical development by improving fine motor skills and helps to develop hand-eye coordination. This pre-writing activity prepares them for future writing activities as they grow older!! 😊

Exploring Sound! 😄 In our engaging, collaborative, and motivating environment, a keyboard was added to see what the children would do and how they would create sound. The children practiced social skills, cognitive abilities, and fine motor skills as well as musical coordination during this activity. Most importantly, they gained confidence by helping each other figure out how the sound worked by pressing on the keys and turning the k***s.

Using a light table with toy animals is a wonderful way for children to explore and learn. This activity helps with developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive development. The visual stimulation provided by the light enhances their ability to observe more details and patterns, fostering visual perception and spatial awareness.

It’s PUMPKIN Season!

During pumpkin exploration, children in out preschool are discovering that pumpkins come in many shapes, sizes, textures, and colors, depending on their seeds and growing conditions. As they touched the smooth skin, bumpy surface, and rough stem, they built vocabulary to describe different textures. Cutting open pumpkins helps them practice safe tool use and learn how tools differ in sharpness. The children also explored their sense of smell, noticing scents they compared to fruits—or sometimes calling them “gross”! Through hands-on experiences like this, children practice observation, comparison, and safe experimentation while learning more about the natural world around them.

We’re excited to share how our classroom uses innovative tools like the overhead projector to support your child’s development in dynamic and meaningful ways. When children interact with projected images on the wall, they’re not just watching—they’re actively engaging. These interactive displays invite full-body movement, creativity, and problem-solving. Unlike traditional play, such as pushing transportation toys on the ground, this type of hands-on, motion-based learning offers deeper sensory and cognitive engagement.
