Moving Gears Cycling Education Moving Gears Cycling Education helps youth and adults learn how to maintain a bike and safely cycle!

Moving Gears Cycling Education helps adults and youth develop confidence in bike repair and bike handling skills. Classes hosted by MGCE range from one day to multi-week events and are appropriate for any age rider. MGCE started as Moving Gears Bike Shop ten years ago as a service learning club in Marysville, Ohio. The club met within the BASE Afterschool Program at Bunsold Middle school, but lost grant funding and ceased to operate in 2022. The spirit of Moving Gears now lives on, as Nichelle Harris ("Ms. H") continues to collaborate with bike advocacy organizations to help people - regardless of gender, age or ability - learn skills they need to be confident with their bike! J.L. Herron passed away early this morning. As you may know, J.L. dedicated many hours to MGBS. In fact, he was one of the first volunteers in the community to step up more than 12 years ago when a 7th grader in the Bunsold Afterschool Enrichment Program named Dean said, "I want to learn about bikes." He brought his sense of humor as he taught numerous middle school students the basics of bike repair and had seemingly endless patience as he did so. He received the Serve Ohio Volunteer of the Year for his work with MGBS.

A service will be held at Ingram Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple Street in Marysville on Friday, January 31, 2025. Calling hours will be from 3-5PM with a funeral service at 5PM.

J.L. will certainly be missed.
