Dr. Chenelle A. Jones, Dr. Jonathan McCombs, Ph.D. and Dr. Lynda Hall spent some time at the Columbus Police Academy yesterday training officers on Community Immersion. This training program allows officers the opportunity to learn about the city of Columbus and it’s residents. It is also a great example of our scholar/practitioner approach to police training.

Public Service Recognition Week has been celebrated the first week of May since 1985 to honor the people who serve our nation as federal, state, county, local and tribal government employees.

Franklin University is proud to recognize those that serve our communities as paramedics, police officers, firefighters and more through the University’s Prior Learning Credit Planning Tool (CPL). With the latest expansion of the CPL, prospective students can now check the transferability of college courses, professional certificates, and training in real-time and compare degree programs to help find the best fit to maximize their time and financial resources. Click here to learn more and see what transfer students like Chris have to say: https://bit.ly/3VOb5FP.

"The Prior Learning Credit Planning Tool was vital for finishing my degree. In my 25 years as a firefighter, I've gained a lot of experience. Franklin University recognized the work experience that aligned with my academic goals and I will be able to earn my degree in less time and at a lower cost." – Chris Courtney

“Finishing my degree at the age of 50 makes me so proud. Franklin University gave me the opportunity to obtain a quality education while still working full-time. My professors were patient and helped me to succeed. I stayed confident and was able to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. After nearly 16 years with the Columbus Division of Police, I hope my degree in Public Safety Management and Leadership will make me a better sergeant and assist me in future promotions within the department. The biggest lesson I learned, is that it’s never too late to achieve your goals and dreams. All you have to do is make it happen.” - Dana Hess (‘23)

Franklin makes it possible, you make it happen. Enhance your academy training with a B.S. in Public Safety Management & Leadership: https://bit.ly/3verAPz.
