Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu was established in 2012 at Ohio University, as the first professional sport management fraternity in the nation. Just a reminder that the application process to join Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu starts next Monday October 1st. The process will run through October 30th. Fill out an application and turn it in to either Professor Cacciato in the CBA 317 or to Dr. Scott Smith in CBA 329.

We are going to congratulate member Brennan Uribe. Brennan this past summer was a Staffing Coordinator for ProCamps. With this position, Brennan was tasked with contacting potential coaches in the area where ProCamps was going to be and seeing if they were interested in coaching the camp. We are happy Brennan had this opportunity over the summer, and we know he will bring his positive attitude to Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu this year.

We would like to congratulate recent graduate Courtney Amaya on her position with ProCamps. Courtney works directly with the CEO of the company. Along with this, Courtney has worked with multiple world class athletes across the country helping them put on youth camps. We are very excited for Courtney, and wish her the best in her career.

We would like to recognize member Paige Mooney. Paige this summer interned with Adidas in Germany for two weeks. Paige also continued her busy summer interning with the Akron RubberDucks. We are excited to have Paige in our organization, and excited to see what the future holds for her.

We would like to recognize member Ian Hogg. Ian this past summer worked at his local YMCA. This upcoming fall, Ian is starting an internship with Ohio Athletics doing ticket operations. We are excited for Ian and his opportunities. We look forward to seeing him grow, and what he brings to the table in the future.

We would like to recognize member Brooks Charlton. This past summer, Brooks was the Director of Marketing/Sponsorships Sales for the Grand Lake Mariners. We are happy to have Brooks in our organization, and we know he will bring these positive experiences to Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu.

We would like to congratulate Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu member Karl Kaufman. Karl had the opportunity to be a ticket sales intern with the Lake County Captains this summer. Karl has proven to be a valuable part of our organization. Karl just completed his first year at OU and this internship last summer. By having someone like Karl, we know that the future is bright for Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu.

We would like to congratulate another outstanding Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu member Jay Emery. Jay had the opportunity this summer to work on the San Diego Sports Consulting Trip through Ohio University. By doing so, Jay was able to work with the Athens Country Club and also the San Diego Legion, the Major League Rugby team in San Diego. Jay's hard work will be valuable for us as an organization. We are proud of him and happy to have him in our organization.

We would like to congratulate current member Garrett Beaverson on his internship this past summer. Garret worked with the Daytona Tortugas in their front office. We are very excited for Garrett. We hope that his experience this summer will be beneficial not only for him, but for us as an organization as well.
