Hilliard Horizon Elementary Welcome to Hilliard Horizon's page! At Horizon Elementary, we believe that ALL students can and will learn.

This page will keep you up to date on the latest information and all the AMAZING learning experiences taking place in our building. We are 100% committed to providing a safe, caring, and nurturing environment, teaching a rigorous and engaging curriculum, and using research based instructional practices. Our staff, students, parents, and community have tremendous pride surrounding the important work we do each day.

The IDC is officially OPEN! ✨

The IDC is so much more than a place to check out books! Mrs. Hafner and Mrs. Vorhees have worked hard to create a space where students can explore a world of books and different zones filled with hands-on activities and opportunities to learn more about science, social studies, writing, and SO much more! 🔬🌎✏️

We can’t wait to see all the learning, exploring, and reading that happens in the Horizon IDC this year! 📚

💌 Horizon Families: You are invited to our annual PTO sponsored event: Sunrise Social!!

🧃Sunrise Social is an event where we invite YOU (families and children that attend Horizon Elementary) to come to our playground before school, have a light breakfast of juice and pastries, and visit with your child’s friends! 🥐

📆 There are two dates for this event:
- September 10: Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade
- September 11: 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade
(if you have children in both grade dates, please just choose one date to attend)

📍Location: Horizon Elementary School Playground and Blacktop Area

⏰ Times: Both days start at 8:15 and end at 8:50

‼️ Families MUST STAY with your child the ENTIRE time! Please do not drop your child off and leave before 8:50. This is an event for families to get to know each other!

Join us for our first PTO Meeting of the year! September’s PTO Meeting is TODAY, September 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the IDC.

PTO stands for “Parent-Teacher Organization.” The goal of our Hilliard Horizon PTO is to bring together a community of parent volunteers to assist, support, and cooperate with our school teachers and staff, and provide our students with an enhanced learning environment and experience! We love new faces and ideas, and we have a lot of fun doing the work that we do. PTO Meetings are always the first Wednesday of the month. We hope to see many of you there!

DID YOU KNOW‼️: September is National Attendance Awareness Month?! Horizon cares about your child’s attendance!

❤️We want to partner with you to give your child the best opportunity to learn and grow! Showing up every day builds strong habits, keeps students connected with friends, and keeps learning on track. Our goal for every student this school yeah is to have fewer than 10 total absences - let’s work together to make every school day count!

☀️HZN will continue our Mystery Attendance Days this school year! That means one day a month, your child will earn a reward just for showing up to school that day. Of course we can’t tell you which day, so make sure your child gets to school as much as possible so they don’t miss out!
