Former Ohio State & NFL Football player, Chimdi Chekwa, visited our PE classes today in support of the Jim Tressel Fitness Challenge initiative. Oakland Park is one of the elementary schools who was chosen to participate in the program this year.
Our group of students in our gifted services used coding to program this cool robot. These kids are thinking outside the box. Watch whow well this thing peforms!

We're a few weeks out from the first day of school, but I know some may be wondering about bus information. Our bus routes have gone fairly smooth the last couple of years. I encourage families to give buses a try this school year.

August is almost here. Please join us for our 2nd National Night Out event sponsored in partnership with OMEGA PSI PHI Fraternity. This event is intended to promote a healthy relationship between neighbors and our law enforcement. Oakland Park Elementary is happy to host this event to interact with our community. Things sure are quiet around here. Our custodial team is working hard! Cleaning, waxing, and prepping for the 2025-2026 school year. Our current enrollment is at 275 students. Help us get up to 310 this summer. Enrolling for all grade levels PK-5. Share with your neigborhood groups and organizations. Prospective Families can enroll at https://www.ccsoh.us/enroll to choose Oakland Park through the School Choice Lottery Application.
Steps to Enroll
1. Review Important Dates
2. Gather Required Enrollment Documents
3. Complete Online Registration (OLR)/Speedy Pass
It is imperative that you upload the Necessary Enrollment Documents. Improper documentation will delay the processing of the Online Registration/Enrollment Application.
4. An Enrollment Specialist will review the OLR and process the enrollment, provided all Necessary Enrollment Documents have been uploaded.
5. The Enrollment Specialist will email/call the parent/guardian with the school of enrollment, start date and Parent Portal set up information.
6. The parent/guardian will then set up the Parent Portal.
The Parent Portal will allow you to view your student's data (such as grades, attendance, schedules...), pay fees, apply for a Pre-K placement or the School Choice Lottery (K-12) and much, much more.
