What a Wondrous Wisdom Weekend we had May 1–3!

Dr. Ellie Paley did a partial mapping of wisdom in the Scriptures from the Garden of Eden to the life and legacy of Yeshua (Jesus), Son of David.

She showed that wisdom involves attunement of the whole person as a holistic embodied skill that is practiced in life by making the daily choice to walk circumspectly and assiduously in the Way of the LORD. That now involves following Yeshua the Messiah who declared himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life—in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

It involves listening to the voice and instruction of God, instead of doing what is good in our own eyes.

It gets tested and is proven by our fear of the LORD, which is the beginning of wisdom.
It leads to the forging of character and growing up to maturity in the Way of the LORD.

Ultimately, it results in being restored to the intended state of human flourishing that God intended (i.e., being blessed and being a blessing).

Dr. Ellie Paley: B.A. in Biblical Studies, Gordon College; M.A. in Biblical Languages, M.A. in Old Testament, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; Ph.D. in Old Testament, University of Cambridge. Known for her impressive feat of memorizing the entire Book of Job in Hebrew, Ellie is keen on exploring the theological and linguistic intricacies of this complex text. Her work is characterized by a joyful engagement with Scripture, challenging the stereotypical perceptions of Biblical academia.
