UPCOMING WEBINARS:

WEBINAR: HAVE A SIP! Standards-In-Practice (SIP): Teaching with Standards in a College and Career Driven Classroom

Date: Wednesday, January 23rd (3:00 – 5:00 p.m. EST) ➢ SIP is a teacher-focused professional development solution that supports the understanding and implementation of standards in the classroom (the College and Career Readiness Standards, the English Language Proficiency Standards, or any set of standards your state or program uses). This SIP webinar will help instructors develop contextualized, standards-based lessons and teach to the standards using strategies that create an active teaching-learning classroom. So, grab one of your favorite lessons and join us for a two-hour webinar that provides a step-by-step approach to creating standards-based lessons and strategies for effective teaching practice. Presenters: Jeff Fantine and Sara Gutting
Cost: $45.00

WEBINAR: Participatory Learning: Engaging Students in the Classroom

Date: Thursday, January 31st (3:00 – 5:00 p.m. EST) ➢ Participatory Learning is an approach to teaching that is about engaging students so they become empowered participants in their learning. Creating a participatory classroom environment will help your students be flexible, creative, and proactive – students who can solve problems, make decisions, think critically, communicate ideas effectively and work efficiently within teams and groups. As teachers in this increasingly complex, fluid, and rapidly evolving world, we need to give our students opportunities to develop personal capabilities and effective thinking skills as part of their education. This webinar will highlight participatory learning strategies that teachers can readily use in their classrooms. These strategies put students in the driver’s seat of their learning, have a proven record of improving student outcomes and are an integral part of helping students achieve college and career success. Presenters: Jeff Fantine
Cost: $45.00

WEBINAR: Career Pathways Strategies for Rural Programs and Low-Level Learners

Date: Tuesday, February 5th (3:00 – 5:00 p.m. EST) ➢ Many of the career pathways models and strategies that are promoted nationally and in many of the resources made available to us: 1.) are not typically designed for the adult education context, 2.) are not feasible for small, rural programs with limited resources, and 3.) do not accommodate lower-level learners who need a foundation of basic skills before they can successfully participate in job training programs. In this webinar, which is designed for both adult education administrators and instructors, we will discuss career pathways strategies that work in adult education programs, specifically in small programs and with lower-level learners. Tracks, flexible grouping, knowing-about-knowing, and gadgetry are just a few of the innovative strategies we will discuss. Participants will be able to readily implement these strategies in their own programs or classrooms. Presenters: Jeff Fantine
Cost: $45.00

NOTE: All webinars are recorded. You do not have to participate live in order to benefit from the webinar. All those who register will receive the materials associated with the webinar and a link to the webinar recording.

If interested, message me for registration details.
