⚡️Throwback to our Fall Safety Bootcamp⚡️
BattChallenge onboarded our new sponsor, Legacy EV, a few months ago. Thanks to them for equipping our team with Level 1 and Level 2 High Voltage Safety Training. We learned everything from safely assembling and disassembling modules to BMS fundamentals. This hands-on training has strengthened our readiness for the real-world high-voltage work we’re doing in Year 3. 🔧🔋Stay tuned for more sneak peeks from the training!

We’re thrilled to share that The Ohio State University team has officially passed Hardware Gate 1 in the Battery Workforce Challenge! 🔋⚡

Our team successfully designed and reviewed the full module and pack design strategy, a major step towards fully integrated battery pack.
A huge thank you to the organizers Argonne National Laboratory and Stellantis for their incredible guidance and support throughout this process.
Enroute to the next stage! 🚗

⚡ Exciting updates from the BattCave!

Yes, we call it the BattCave — a dedicated space where all our motorsports teams work on batteries. Safety is our top priority, and last week we took our first big step by holding a mandatory Battery Safety Training for everyone who wants to work in the BattCave. From now on, only trained members are authorized to handle batteries in this space.

We’re especially proud that the session was led by Joe Borgerson , one of our Buckeye BattChallenge team members at Columbus State Community College. Joe has now joined the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) as Laboratory Research Operations Coordinator, and it is exciting to have him back with the team and contributing to our journey again.

This training marks just the beginning of building a strong safety culture around our work, with more initiatives to come!

We had a great time connecting with students at the MAE Welcome Back event and the College of Engineering's Motorsports Car Show! It was the perfect way to kick off fall semester and share more about what we do at Buckeye BattChallenge.

We’re excited to welcome all the new students who stopped by to learn about our work in building the future of battery technology.

📅 Don’t miss our Fall Kickoff Event on September 10th from 6:30–7:30 PM in Scott Lab, Room E100.

If you’d like to learn more, reach out to lamba.17 for details.

Sponsor spotlight! Huge thanks to Wiha Tools for supporting our team with a high-voltage insulated screwdriver set! Their tools help us build safer battery systems and practice industry-ready assembly techniques. "Wiha’s generous support helps our team prepare and protect our students by learning best practices in battery system manufacturing and assembly.” – David DeLisle, Project Manager, OSU.
