The Ohio State Livestock Judging team has a 121-year heritage rich in success and tradition!

This is the official page for the Ohio State Livestock Judging Team. We hope to keep you informed about our progress throughout the judging season as well as other events our team members and supporters are involved with. In 2012, we have created the Buckeye Livestock Judging Club and it is now an official organization here at Ohio State!

New this year is a social hour at Varsity Club following the Gala.

As we wrap up with our 50, 25 and 10 year anniversary team highlights this week, we wanted to take time to introduce the ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“ ๐‹๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐œ๐ค ๐‰๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐“๐ž๐š๐ฆ which will be recognized at the Scarlet and Gray gala. This was a group that many of us have remained familiar with whether you have purchased a lamb or show pig from some and/or listened to a familiar voice on a podcast or two. I think it is safe to say that this groupโ€™s passion for good livestock and this industry alike has certainly helped transform their time not just on the team, but in their careers over the last ๐๐ž๐œ๐š๐๐ž.

From the red dirt of Oklahoma City to the historic "Mile High" air of Denver, these nine students just wrapped up the ultimate marathon. Eleven days on the road isn't just about the livestock in the ring; itโ€™s about the 6:00 AM wake-up calls, the endless sets of reasons practiced in the van, and the grit it takes to compete at the ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ฉ๐™ก๐™š๐™ข๐™–๐™ฃ'๐™จ ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ง๐™š๐™จ๐™จ and the ๐™‰๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก ๐™’๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฃ.

With close proximity to Columbus, not only is this a great small ruminant contest for the senior team, but we also have the chance to bring with several talented junior students who are eager to begin their judging career this spring.

Our second livestock judging contest will be held this Sunday, June 1 at 9 am. Kids should be up near the ring at 8:45 am to get their 2 placing cards.
Make sure to have something to write on and write with. We ask that parents stay out of the stands as the older members will help our younger members during the contest.
