Noor Summer Camp

Dear NSC Families, due to issues in staffing we have had to make the difficult decision in pausing summer camp for another year.

Assalamlaikum,

In light of the information and guidance coming out from Governor Dewine's office, it is with a heavy heart we have to announce that we are cancelling the June 15- July 3rd session for Noor Summer Camp. The program was scheduled as a 3 week day camp for our children but it is safe to say that under the current circumstances it has been almost impossible to secure field trips, book tours or invite any in House guests for the month of June.

We are uncertain of what social distancing rules will look like later in the summer but we will keep ourselves informed and also stay in communication with leadership at NICC to see if an in-masjid program will be possible. If so, announcements , registrations and counselor sign ups will happen at that time.
This would have been Noor Summer Camp's 10th year and we had some huge ideas brewing, but we can plan and then Allah Subhanahu wa Taala plans, and indeed He is the best of planners.

This note is to inform you that in light of current events your spots for your children are reserved if you have filled out the registration form. We have decided to refrain from collecting payments at this time due to the uncertainty and how fluid the situation is with COVID-19. The Ohio State University has extended classes for another week and there is guidance from our school districts that schools will be moving into eLearning and distance learning methods for the long haul.
At this time, all school calendars do indicate the same dates for summer commencements. However, if that changes and we have to re adjust dates for Noor Summer Camp 2020 we felt that it is unfair to collect payment and put a financial burden on families if there is a delay in getting refunds.
We will send out more communications from our end after April 6th as we monitor the situation with schools closely to decide when the best time is to begin collecting payment specifically for Noor Summer Camp 2020.

In the meantime, registration is open and certain groups are filling fast. Please do continue to register and if anything changes we will let you know asap :

The situation with COVID-19 is developing rapidly but we do not anticipate it affecting Noor Summer Camp 2020 at this point.

Theme : My Character Quest : Renew, Refine , Refocus!
Camp dates : June 15 - July 3rd 2020
Times : 10 am - 3 pm (before and after latchkey available)
Registration opens : March 10 - Early discount applies.

Ages : Accepting campers entering grade 1 in 20-21 school year AND turning 6 years before Sept 30 2020 up to those that are entering 8th grade.

Noor Sumer Camp 2020 will take campers on a personal character building journey. Each camper will delve into their quest to RENEW the Iman in their heart by learning to build good habits and encompassing a growth mindset, along side REFINing their akhlaq with the power of mindfullness, and REFOCUSing their motivation to the love of Allah swt to attain ihsan. Get ready for 3 weeks of, "My Character Quest: Renew, Refine, Refocus"!

Our theme was, "Join Hands-Serve the Community". How befitting this theme was to our team this year. We had a team that leaned on each other. A team that each individual brought something different, but was exactly what we needed. A team that comes from all walks of life, but made each other feel like family. A team that impacted, grew, and loved each child that was entrusted to us. A team that made one for the books. May Allah guide you all to success and reward you for all the efforts you put forth these past three weeks!
