Exciting milestone at KIPP Columbus! โ๏ธ
Last week, we hosted our inaugural Middle School Chess Tournament, fostering critical thinking, patience, and strategic problem-solving among our scholars.
A special thank you to Kathy Lin, Executive Director of the Columbus Chess Academy and a respected National Tournament Director, for serving as our arbiter and helping create such an authentic tournament experience for our students. Partnerships like these help ensure our KIPPsters have access to enriching opportunities and inspiring community leaders who expand what they believe is possible.
Congratulations to all of our participants who stepped up to the board with confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship. We are so proud of you! โ๏ธ๐

Last week, we hosted one of our favorite annual traditions โ Tacos and Ties! ๐ฎ๐
Our 2nd grade young men celebrated the end of the school year by learning the important skill of tying a tie from incredible male role models across our team. Along the way, they also enjoyed plenty of tacos, laughter, and fun together!
This special event is a celebration of the ways our students live out our INSPIRE values each and every day. We are so proud of our soon-to-be 3rd graders and all of the growth, leadership, and confidence they continue to show. ๐๐

Last week, KIPP Columbus was proud to host our second annual Safety Day! ๐๐
Our Kโ5 KIPPsters had the opportunity to engage with safety partners from across Central Ohio - shout out to the Columbus Division of Police, Columbus Division of Fire, Mifflin Township Division of Fire, Franklin County, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and more for making this event possible - we are grateful!
This event creates space for students to build positive connections with first responders, learn about the important services they provide, ask LOTS of great questions, and explore future career pathways.
A special thank you to our KIPP Columbus High School National Honor Society students, who volunteered their time to support the day and help make it a meaningful experience for our younger KIPPsters.
Weโre grateful to our partners and student leaders for showing up for our community in such a powerful way! ๐
