Our organization strives to participate in events sponsored by the college itself organizations of the college. All OSU Students are welcome!
The Horsemen's Association was established in September of 1995 to help promote the horse industry and to allow our members to gain knowledge and experience by participating in equine events. Furthermore, our organization coordinates community service projects with outside equine affiliations, strengthening our relationship with the community. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month

Meet the 2019 Exec Team!
Hannah Harmon is going into her 5th year at Ohio State and is the new Vice President for Horsemen's Association! She is majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Econ/Animal Science Industries and one day want to work in equine reproduction. In the future she would like to be a broodmare manager at a large operation. Hannah grew up trail riding and has been riding competitively on the Hunt Seat team for two years. She's also worked with horses at the OSU Horse Barn, and Nala is her favorite! Hannah's interests and hobbies include outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking, and she loves to travel. A fun fact about Hannah is that she set a Guinness world record when she was in 5th grade!

Meet the 2019 Exec Team!
Avery Menear is going into her 5th year at Ohio State and is a returning member of the Executive Team that will be staying on as an advisor. She is majoring in Animal Science and wants to work as a Zookeeper or in Animal Husbandry. Avery has three years of horse experience working at the OSU Horse Barn. Her other interests and hobbies include reading, writing, and playing video games. A fun fact about Avery is that she has been to South Africa twice!

Meet the 2019 Exec Team!
Rachel Stanco is going into her 4th year at Ohio State and will be the new Treasurer for Horsemen's Association! She is majoring in Animal Sciences with a specialization in Biosciences. In the future she wants to be a veterinarian working in a mixed practice and with small exotic animals! Rachel has horse experience through trail riding and taking equine classes at OSU. Her other interests and hobbies include music, she plays both flute and piano, knitting, and playing Pokemon Go. A fun fact about Rachel is that she wants to have a pet chicken that lives in her apartment, and she's a plant hoarder!

Meet the 2019 Exec Team!
Gabby Waltz is going into her 4th year at Ohio State and she will be the new Secretary for Horsemen's Association! She is majoring in Animal Science with goals to train a variety of animal species, including horses, or managing a horse barn. Gabby has owned two mares that she used for trail riding in addition to working at the OSU horse barn. Her other interests include reading and watching Netflix. A fun fact about Gabby is that she can play three instruments - clarinet, trumpet, and oboe!

Rebekah Fries is entering her 4th year at Ohio State and is excited to take on the role of President for Horsemen's Association! She is majoring in Animal Science and is enrolled in the Veterinary Technology Program at Columbus State. Rebekah hopes to one day work in a mixed or large animal practice. She has been riding English for 12 years, and also has some experience working with rescue horses. Her other interests and hobbies include reading, art, and music. She used to play the flute and piccolo in band in high school. A fun fact about Rebekah is that she went on an equine study abroad in the Nether;ands and Germany!

Our next meeting is TODAY, April 2 @ 6:00PM at the OSU Horse Barn. We will be having a social in order to support the OSU Equine Program. Come join us to watch a run-through in preparation for Buckeye Bonanza.

TOMORROW! Join us for another meeting as we have guest speaker, Masa Williams, coming in to talk to us about horse coat color genetics.
If you've ever wondered why horses end up the colors that they are, or are simply interested in genetics, we hope you'll join us! There will be pizza and a rousing game of matching genes!
The meeting will be at 6pm in the Animal Science building, room 202.

Happy Friday, Everybody!
The weekend approaches and so does our next volunteering opportunity. Tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 16th, is our second volunteering opportunity of the semester.
We will be going back to Sunrise Sanctuary to help with farm chores and anything else the staff might need. If you're planning on joining us, you will need to sign the waiver in the link below and bring money with you for lunch afterwards.

As always, executive members will be providing a carpool at 9AM outside of Plumb Hall leaving promptly at 9:15AM. Our volunteering time is 10AM -1PM. Please remember to dress for the weather and prepare to see lots of cute animals.

Thank you to those who came with us to Sunrise Sanctuary yesterday!
Don't forget to that we have another volunteering opportunity coming up on February 16th as well as our next campus meeting on February 5th. We will have a guest speaker coming to talk to us about miniature horses 🐴
