We made authentic street tacos in Urban G.E.M.S at Millennium Community School. This experience not only showed them Onion, Cilantro and Salsa Verde can be the secret for a good recipe, but they all had an experience that opened up their minds to new things and expanded their pallets!

“As a facilitator, I was excited to share this experience with these young people. The first time I decided to expand my pallet I was in highschool with my mentor. It was these tacos. I work with these young people all year around. I become more like a mentor, everyday that I am there. Even some of the kids that hate Onions decided to put some on their tacos. They didn’t know what to expect but did it anyway and loved it. It’s exciting to keep developing new ways to make healthier options present while creating experiences for these youth “ - Ty’Keice Cox
