What a week! 🥰 We welcomed a new student this week which was so much fun for our class AND for our friends at A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services! We are so excited to have another student join us next week as well! The saying, “The more the merrier” is so true, especially for this unique intergenerational program. Each student brings with them a different kind of “quickening” energy that helps our senior friends engage with others. Take a look at all of these sweet interactions! 😍
When your child becomes apart of this program, they become part of a FAMILY! This family comes with bonus grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc. and a whole lot of LOVE! 💕

There’s something about the cool fall breeze that really warms up the hearts of our students AND our senior friends at A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services! 💗This week we enjoyed arts and crafts, fresh play dough, fun games and HUGS!! 😍
It is so incredible to watch our students learn how to become little light workers for their senior counterparts. It is our hope to create a whole new generation of people who keep the needs of their seniors at the forefront of their minds while making the world a better place. 🥰

Making more play dough for the little ones this evening! 👩🏼🍳 Has anyone else struggled with watching others mix the colors together to make a bland, sad color? Please tell me I’m not the only one!
I HAD to learn to let that go when I first started teaching over a decade ago (while in the classroom, anyway). It truly is great for their development to explore and be creative in that sense! I, however, really enjoy the short time that I get to spend with the play dough in this state. 😜

The time spent during our Intergenerational Gardening Club with our friends from A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services is getting a little more exciting each week! 😍🍅🥒 We think it’s pretty cool that we grew our snack today! Wow! June flew by while we were having FUN! 😎
We had the amazing opportunity to bring new life into the world in both the plant and animal kingdoms. Our students worked hard with their Friends from A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services caring for the plants in our intergenerational garden. We are starting to see that their hard work is paying off! 😍💦🌱☀️ While raising baby plants outside, we also successfully raised nine butterflies inside! It was so neat for our students to able to see each stage of their lives in real time.🐛🦋
We are also blessed with special guests who come to visit us throughout the month:

📚2nd Thursday: Story-time and crafts with the ladies at Fables and Fairy Tales
🎸4th Friday: Sing Along with Craig Adams
