I remember thinking my life as I knew it was over and being convinced that was a bad thing. Waking up still paralyzed, still in the hospital and about to find out my surgical team had no prognosis for me, nearly broke me.

But God, my friends and family wouldn’t have it that way.

For the first time in my life I couldn’t ignore my needs by helping someone else. I couldn’t avoid asking for help, accepting help and truly being there for ME first. I couldn’t ignore the trauma that caused me decades of anxiety and depression. I couldn’t lay there stuck feeling like a victim. I choose to fight for me.

I was either going to focus on my recovery both physically and emotionally OR not survive it. I chose to not just survive but thrive thanks to therapy, coaching, medication, prayer, friends and family 🤎.
