Realeyes Program

Realeyes staff joined another health day at St. Ursula in Cincinnati. Students learned about how to keep their eyes healthy and safe as we introduced them to characters like Sammy, Rhet, & Vinny! Health days at school may be winding down, but if you know of a health fair or community event over the summer, consider inviting Realeyes!

A true sign of summer – many community pools open this week! Grab your sunnies and towels and head to the pool to make a splash. Sunglasses are important on these summer days, but don't forget those goggles too. This message isn’t just for the youngest swimmers: we all need to protect our eyes while in the pool! You know the chemicals in the pool can dry out your eyes, but did you also know germs and dirt can get into your eyes if you open them underwater without protection?

12 Realeyes presenters + 2 schools + 2 days + 55 presentations = 1,200 6th grade students who have just increased their Eye-Q! These days in May prove to be some of the most exciting every year as optometrists and students from OSU converge on the Hilliard 6th grade campuses!

The first Friday of May is always National Space Day, and we’re ready to celebrate! Here at Realeyes, we’ve been inspired by the cosmos and particularly what happens to eyes in space. We have a digital handout along with several video interviews with a space expert to share with Ohio classrooms to learn more. E-mail [email protected] today!

Realeyes took a trip to the Ohio Association of School Nurses Conference to meet the incredible school nurses we speak to throughout the year.

Did you know today is “Take a wild guess day”? The Realeyes team hears all types of guesses from 3rd - 5th graders about the optical illusions and mystery surrounding The Case of Vinny Vision! We “guess” you can say this Realeyes program is a favorite for a good reason - it teaches about the importance of eye health while it entertains!

April is National Poetry Month! Here at Realeyes, we’re feeling inspired to write about the importance of eye safety. This April, we’re here to remind you (in the most poetic way possible) to wear sunglasses when outside enjoying the spring sunshine.
