Story Time:
I wanted to talk more about my academic life. Not to boast about my achievements, but to relate how fitness improved my academics and vise versa.
..
The one thing when you can people talk about health and fitness is discipline. You need structure. You need consistency. You need commitment. And college? It's no different. In fact, learning to create discipline, consistency, and commitment from the gym helped me in my studies.
..
And the result? The culmination of 2 Bachelor's in Biochemistry Cellular/Molecular Biology and a minor in Mathematics, all in 4 years. Not to mention a Master's in Biophysics (Ok a little boasting).
..
And what about the vise versa? Well, I love data, I love results, and I love troubleshooting when experiments don't go according to plan. I may not be in a research facilities anymore conducting "experiments", but the gym is my lab. My clients are my research. And the experiments are improving their health and wellness.
..
So TL;DR... Use what you learn from the gym into your everyday life. Stay committed, keep consistency, and above all else, learn discipline.

Want to learn how to back squat? How about front squat? Or even overhead squat if you're saucy?
..
Here is a great demonstration shown by on how to progress to more advance squats.
..
The theme for any progression towards advance lifts is IMPROVE in the individual components. For instance, on squats, work towards the actual movement pattern (box), then depth, core stability, external load, then finally mobility (overhead).
..
If you want more information about squat progression, feel free to DM me in all your questions!!

Why give 101% effort?
..
This poster was in my math professor's office. He said,
"Small changes produce massive results. Positive or negative. So why give 101% effort? Because effort is not additive, it's s compounded."
..
Whether it's fitness, relationships, financial, or academic goals, always put in a little extra effort. Because even if it feels minuscule now, over time, it will become great.
..
Have you given your 101% today?

Hey y'all, I'm Vinnie. This was me when I just started college, in 2010.
My story is pretty straightforward. a socially awkward, overweight kid, cooped up playing video games 🎮 and music 🎶. I became skinny because of puberty and tried to stay that way until the doctor told me to start eating because I was borderline anorexic.
114lbs going into college, I decided to eat. Fast food, junk food, and hot dogs, lots of hot dogs. I became overweight again and asked a college friend to show me how to work out (he convinced me). And well... I can explain the rest some other time.
But I wanted to say this if you made it this far. I've learned a lot throughout the years on my journey calls "Health and Fitness". I want to share it with y'all and hopefully spark change into someone eñlse's life and they too can share their story as well.
Until the next storytime...
