Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! 🇨🇦

From all of us at Symtech Fire, we wish our Canadian customers, partners, and fire service professionals a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

With the holiday season approaching, it’s a timely reminder of the fire hazards associated with holiday cooking and decorations. Symtech Fire’s Turkey Fryer and Christmas Tree training props help fire departments demonstrate these risks and reinforce important fire prevention lessons.

Wishing everyone a safe holiday!

October 10th 2026 is .
“Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

We talk a lot about preparing firefighters for what they’ll encounter on the fireground. But readiness isn't just physical.
Firefighters need the support, resources, and relationships to manage what they carry off the fireground. Because the person behind the gear matters just as much as the skill they're training to perform.

The call ends. The impact doesn't always.

If you need immediate support with a suicidal, mental health, and/or substance use crisis, call the NVFC First Responder Helpline or call 988 for the national Su***de and Crisis Lifeline (or go to the web site for chat). In addition, SAMHSA’s National Helpline is available at 1-800-662-HELP (4357), and the Crisis Text Line is available by texting HOME to 741741.

Sometimes the best way to talk about our work is to let our customers do the talking.

Findlay Fire Department shared their experience with their Symtech training solutions, including their 3-story Class A Container Burn Building with an attached 40' rappelling tower.

“Their solutions have enhanced our capability for effective training evolutions for our department and those throughout our county.”

Findlay noted the value of the training environment for first-arriving unit tactics, including size-up and 360, hoseline deployment, forcible entry, and search and rescue. They also saw measurable improvements in efficiency during the first few minutes of fire suppression operations.

They also had this to say about working with our team:

“They took the time to understand our specific needs and adapted their approach to ensure a successful outcome, and their ongoing commitment to our satisfaction is outstanding.”

We appreciate Findlay Fire Department for taking the time to share their experience and for trusting Symtech Fire to support their training needs.

Fire departments and training centers have unique resources, training goals and needs.

That's why our training solutions are not one-size-fits-all.

The right training environment gives firefighters the opportunity to build skills, reinforce procedures and prepare for the challenges they face in the field.

Different Training Needs.
Different Solutions.
One Goal: Better Preparation

Have a specific training need or project in mind? Let's talk.

The best time to prepare for a flashover is before you are facing one on the job.

"A flashover is the near-simultaneous ignition of most of the directly exposed combustible material in an enclosed area." Recognizing the conditions that can lead to flashover, and understanding how fire behavior changes, is an important part of firefighter training.

Symtech Live Fire Flashover Simulators provide departments with a controlled environment for hands-on training and the opportunity to study fire behavior in realistic conditions.

All Symtech Live Fire Simulators are designed in accordance with NFPA 1402, Standard on Facilities for Fire Training and Associated Props.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has sponsored Fire Prevention Week since 1922, bringing attention to fire safety and prevention for more than 100 years.

This October, here at Symtech, we'll be talking about fire prevention all month long.

What does fire prevention look like to a firefighter?

It's more than preventing a fire from starting.

It's understanding fire behavior, recognizing changing conditions, knowing what smoke and flames are telling you and training to make informed decisions as conditions change.
