EduCover strives to curve absenteeism. Did you know that in low socio-economic areas, absenteeism increases by as much as 20% when it rains because some kids can't afford rain cover?

In many schools, bus transportation is only available for students who live 2 miles away from the school. For parents who count every dollar, an umbrella or raincoat is not an essential item. So when it rains, parents have to make a tough choice, do they send their kid to school in the rain?

To help combat this, we aim to give 1 free poncho to schools for every 1 umbrella that we sell. With your help, we believe we can decrease absenteeism caused by rain!

Only if they would have purchased an EduCover umbrella: A child in need would have recieved a poncho, their umbrella would not have broken during the middle of a thunderstorm and they would have supported teachers who spend $500 a year on unreimbursed items for their students. Instead....you got soaked and you littered...smh

This photo is trending because it's an example of what NBA players are eating in bubble...Many comments are saying this is ridiculous. I only wish people had the same concern about the kids in our educational system that are starving without school lunches.

Children who are chronically absent in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade are much less likely to read at grade level by the third grade. Students who cannot read at grade level by the end of third grade are four times more likely than proficient readers to drop out of high school. – U.S. Department of Education Report on Chronic Absenteeism in the Nation’s Schools

Among eighth-graders, those who missed school three or more days in the month before being tested scored between 0.3 and 0.6 standard deviations lower (depending on the number of days missed) on the NAEP mathematics test than those who did not miss any school days.
