The Irmo Dance Company is presenting Dancing through the Decades Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. You'll be dancing in your seats and singing songs from the past. Tickets can be purchased at irmocenterforthearts.org and at the door per availability. Concert time is 7pm at our beautiful Center for the Arts located at the heart of the Irmo High School campus.

Giving a shout out to our 2019-2020 Stingette Season. We just finished an awesome June training and conditioning session. I'm really looking forward to coming back in July and gearing up for our first pep rally routine.

Irmo Dance Company invites you to our Spring Dance Concert entitled, "Just Dance Volume '19, We got that sunshine in our pockets and that good soul in our feet". Join us for a phenomenal showcase of student talent and heart, Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, at 7pm in the beautiful Center for the Arts. Irmo Dance Day was a blast!! We had 37 Irmo Middle School dance students in attendance and 52 Irmo High School dance students. This event is prepared and directed by our International Baccalaureate and Dance 4 students. They lead warm-up, across the floor progressions and four combinations in the genres of hip-hop, jazz, contemporary and African.

You are invited to our very first student produced choreography showcase designed by senior student Daja' Wilson, entitled "No One Fights Alone", Friday, April 5th at 7pm. Tickets are $5 and All proceeds go to our very own Irmo High School and Irmo Middle School Dance Programs. This was created by our students to support their passion of the arts and show appreciation for the amazing opportunities they respect and love at Irmo High School, International School for the Arts. Come support these talented dancers and see the amazing work they have been creating behind the scenes.

So proud of our six Irmo High School students who performed in "Off the Wall and Onto the Stage" at the Township Auditorium with the Columbia City Ballet, three of whom are on our current Stingettes Dance Team, Danielle Harrell, Serene Alvarez, and Kiara Johnson, in addition Jay'l Lindsey, Casey Fore and Taleah Holt. This was an amazing collaboration directed by William Starrett, inspired by the paintings of Jonathon Green. Eleven of our dance students enjoyed being part of the audience, excited to support all on stage.

Congratulations to the Stingettes Dance Team, returning from their first competition placing 2nd, 4th and 5th overall with one Elite Gold and two Platinum awards. The team also received a "Bravo Award" for the contemporary piece choreographed by Mrs. Chapman. This achievement was a judge’s choice award for exceptional choreography, selecting 5 recipients out of the 90 performances.

Last Thursday, 35 IHS dance students participated in District Five Dance Day at Dutch Fork High School where they enjoyed four master classes from guest artists throughout the South Carolina area focusing on African, contemporary, jazz and hip hop genres.
