A Message of Condolence
On behalf of Allen University Athletics, I extend our deepest condolences to the entire Benedict College family on the passing of Athletic Director Willie Washington.

The loss of a leader, colleague, mentor, and friend is never easy. Mr. Washington made a lasting impact on Benedict College, the student-athletes he served, his colleagues, and the broader HBCU athletic community. His dedication to intercollegiate athletics and his commitment to the development and success of young people will be remembered and deeply missed.

As neighboring HBCUs and members of the Columbia community, Allen University and Benedict College share a special connection through our students, alumni, athletic programs, and the traditions that make this community so meaningful. During this difficult time, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the Washington family, the Benedict College administration, coaches, staff, student-athletes, alumni, and the entire Benedict community.
