Our 21st Century Coordinator and 5 Project Directors are spending this week learning innovative strategies, building connections with leaders from across the country, and ready to bring back powerful ideas to strengthen our out-of-school time programs for students and families.

Jackson Creek Elementary School’s 21st CCLC program has been working on their first passion project of the year! Students learned all about staying safe from their neighborhood firefighters, explored the fire engine up close, and Mikayla Carter’s amazing 3rd graders presented on the topic. To top it all off, they even had a perfectly timed fire drill!

Our 21st CCLC Camp Pathway 5th grade scholars at Center for Achievement had swimming lessons on Friday at Jeep Rogers Family YMCA. From learning basic water safety to practicing strokes, our campers showed courage, teamwork, and determination. Aiesha Davis

21st CCLC students at Killian Elementary were all in during math today! They dove in, asked and answered questions using mathematical vocabulary, and weren’t afraid to make mistakes—because that’s how we grow and learn! What a true reflection of being BRAVE!

We LOVE our partners! The 4th grade students at Killian Elementary were very engaged with activities provided by The STEM Lab! We are very excited about this partnership! They were learning code to create a Maze Game.

It was a great volunteering and networking at the 3rd Annual STEM Extravaganza at Segra Park sponsored by the South Carolina Afterschool Alliance! Looking forward to next year and having our 21st CCLC programs in R2 join the fun!

Students at Jackson Creek Elementary School had a busy day in 21st CCLC Innovative Investigator program. They started off celebrating students who had perfect attendance and students who exhibited the characteristics of BRAVE. Then it was off to the classroom for some engaging instruction .
