You know that is the best thing about traveling American Airline? Is knowing that you are a United Airline frequent flier.

Two months ago, I paid $3,400 for a premium economy ticket to Japan from AA. Yesterday, a few hours after arriving to Yokohama, I received the news that my brother had passed away. Long story short, after more than 3 hours in phone calls, chats, showing proof that I wasn't lying, and much talking to everybody, AA offered me to change my flights for another $1,060 on top of what I had already paid.

There was a time when bereavement fares meant something, and people were treated as more than profit for a greedy company.
