This weekend we welcomed the Geology Alumni Development Board back for the Spring Meeting. We started with the private event at the Columbia Art League and ‘Step Back in Time’ show followed by a dinner at the Atrium, a great time had by all! On Saturday we recognized Martha George and Jim Frank for their council and service on the board. Thank you for all that you have accomplished in your service in this capacity, and the many other board members who also shared some milestones. We are delighted to welcome Carey Bridges and Aaron Johnson as the new elected Chair and Vice Chair of the board.
In addition we congratulate Casey Bennett as this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Award and Dita Sahdarani who received the James Stitt Outstanding Teaching Award. Last but not least we congratulate Mathias Lobb in receiving not one but two awards, including the Undergraduate Award and the Branson Field Camp Award.
As a final aside, congratulations to Dr. Sarah Jacquet for receiving 2nd place in the CAL art show. We look forward to Drs Tara Selly and Jim Schiffbauer running another iteration of this event in the future!
