Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen

Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen is a group of young women here to promote the beef industry!

The University of Missouri (Mizzou) Collegiate Cattle Women (CCW) consists of a group of young ladies, who are passionate about the beef community. The women of CCW come from diverse backgrounds within the beef industry, whether they showed various breeds of beef cattle, raised calves, background cattle or work in a feedlot for consumption purposes. The one commonality that brings our current and

past members together is our passion for the beef community and working to promote a lifestyle we cherish. Throughout the year, our members work to promote beef and beef safety to not only our fellow peers on campus, but also the Columbia, Missouri area. A few of our activities include completing Speaking of Beef presentations in high school Family & Consumer Sciences classrooms across Missouri, picking up trash along Highway 63, and assisting with activities of the Boone County and Missouri Cattlemen’s and Cattlewomen’s organizations. Education is a crucial part of our organization, whether it is educating members of the importance of beef and beef safety through the Master’s of Beef Advocacy or our biggest event held each spring called Meet your Meat. We welcome any new member who is passionate about beef and the work to educate consumers about its importance in our society.

❤️🥩CCW 15th Annual Meet Your Meat🥩❤️

On Monday April 13th, we hosted our 15th annual Meet Your Meat event, our biggest event of the year! Although this year looked a little different without a live animal, we still believed that the show must go on! At the end of the day, the purpose of our club and this event are to advocate for the beef industry, the women within, and agriculture in its entirety.

We would like to thank the numerous sponsors who graciously support our event, as well as the students, staff, and community members that stopped by to chat, learn more about the beef industry, and get a delicious ribeye sandwich! Additionally, we are very grateful for the Boone County Cattlemen’s Association for their unwavering support each year and for preparing and grilling steaks for us.

We are already getting ready for next year and cannot wait! Stay tuned and follow our Instagram and pages for more information regarding meetings, events, and more next school year!

Next, we went to 808 ranch to tour their operation. A huge thank you to Mr. Carl, Mr. Chace, and Ms. Haddie for the tour and for talking to us about the history behind their operation and the new technology being implemented! It was absolutely stunning!
