Very nice. So helpful to have tips for young people and the adults around them. It truly does take the whole village pulling together in the same direction for teamwork to actually make the dream work. But the best news is we’re all in it together.

Collectivist cultures around the world nest the individual within the greater good, reinforcing the idea that collective care is self-care. A recent study in a nursing education program supported this traditional wisdom in its findings. The researchers found that interventions to reduce teacher burnout were more successful when they included practices that addressed the group’s mental health and well-being alongside individual teachers’ needs.

On this World Mental Health Day, how do you see your own well-being as tied to the communities to which you belong? How do you help your students to see themselves as part of a larger community?

Thank you for all you do.
