Well, I have tried for 3 years now to separate my personal account from the University of Missouri AFROTC and can’t do so. Needless to say it’s time to delete my profile and start over again. What a royal pain in the butt. Those of you who wish to stay in touch know how to reach me, those who don’t, take care & God bless.
University Of Missouri Air Force ROTC Detachment 440
We are Air Force ROTC Detachment 440 at the University of Missouri.
Det 440 Students & Alumni,
It is with a great deal of emotion I write this.
I am retiring from with Mizzou with July 15th being my last day. I want each and every one of you to know what a joy you have brought to my life. My life has been made so much richer by knowing each of you for a brief moment in time and watching you achieve your dreams was the icing on the cake.
I will cherish every moment and every memory I have of my amazing Det 440 "Kids". It has been my honor and privilege working with each of you in your journey to be some of the best leaders of tomorrow. Never stop reaching and never stop learning.
Aim High my Shining Stars!!
Much love to you all,
Ms. Briggs

The 74th Annual AFROTC DET 440 Dining Out was a huge success this year thanks to the great work of our amazing Cadets!
Special guest this year was Brigadier General Jori Robinson, Commander of 175th Wing Maryland Air National Guard who gave an amazing and inspirational speech. She is a 1999 DET 440 grad and it was such a pleasure to meet her and listen to her experiences being the first woman from the DET as well as her encouragement to all of our Cadets.
Among the Awards was the very first recipient of the Irving Burrows Scholarship which was awarded to Cadet Spencer Anderson, Congratulations!!
The results of the Rated Board came out just in time to announce all those who applied for a Rated slot. With great enthusiasm each of the Cadets announced were more than just a little overjoyed and all that applied received their dream choice of Pilot and CSO.
This was my first Dining Out after being with the DET for four years. This was the first time I had ever witnessed the Flag Folding ceremony. I have to say I’ve never been quite as moved as I was with the six Cadets performing this ceremony. Every Cadet accomplished their task with precision, grace and the utmost care of our precious American Flag.
I am so incredibly proud of each an every one of our Cadets!! Graduation and Commissioning of our May Seniors takes place on 14 May 22.

Congratulations go out to go out to our spring 2021 new 2nd Lieutenants. I have had the honor and privilege of being your “DET Mom” since your Freshman year and watching each of you grow into the extraordinary leaders you’ve become. My Shining Stars, the only limits you have are those you set for yourself. Follow your dreams and once you achieve one dream, create another and go after that one! You’ve made this “DET Mom” exceedingly proud!! God bless and keep you always! Fly, Fight, Win!!!
