GENYOUth recently launched a new Youth Insights report, “Present, Engaged, and Thriving: The Power of a Wellness Culture in Schools,” centering student voices to better understand what drives attendance, engagement and belonging.

The findings are clear: students experiencing a weak culture of wellness are over three times as likely to be frequently or chronically absent compared to those in schools with a strong culture of wellness. Students consistently reported they show up and learn when they feel respected and included, have opportunities for movement and are well-nourished during the school day.

Read the full report at genyouthnow.org and explore the insights in more detail. Share this research with your PTA community and discuss how you can incorporate wellness programs in your school.

Missouri PTA honors all our brave military members who made the ultimate sacrifice for us and our freedom.

Here are some ways to observe today:

1. National Moment of Remembrance: Pause for one minute at 3:00 p.m. local time to honor those who have died in service.
2. Flag Etiquette: Fly your U.S. flag at half-staff until noon, then raise it to the top.
3. Etiquette Tip: Because it is a day of solemn remembrance, it is widely considered better to wish someone a "meaningful" or "respectful" day rather than a "happy" one, and to save "thank you for your service" for living veterans on Veterans Day.

🌞✈️ Ready for your Summer Getaway? Don't let your guard down! Keep your summer travels safe with these quick tips:
🛑 Wait to Post! We all love a good vacation flex, but wait until you get back home to post those photos and check-ins. Tipping off strangers that you're out of town makes your empty home a target.
📸 Digitize Documents: Snap photos of your passports, IDs, and medical cards, and store them securely on your phone.
🎒 Separate Valuables: Never keep all your credit cards, cash, and ID in one place. Stash extra cash in your hotel safe and only carry what you need for the day.
🔐 Home Secure: Stop your mail, ask a trusted neighbor to watch the house, and double-check all locks and windows before you hit the road.
📱 Stay Alert: Stay aware of your surroundings—especially in crowded areas or when pulling out your phone to take the perfect picture
