Sustain Sunday Recap 🌞

Thank you to everyone who came out to our events this week! From our beehive checkup to our E-Waste drive and so much more, there’s always something sustainable to participate in.

Wee had a very busy week celebrating earth day! Looking backwards we had a successful tabling at the earth day festival where our green tigers made zines. We also enjoyed a birdwatching with nature sessions, then a campus clean. On Friday we celebrated Arbor Day by growing trees in peace park. Thursday we enjoyed a bike ride with local motion. On Wednesday we celebrated earth day with a clothing swap an a hive check. Tuesday we introduced new leadership and on Monday we learned about public transit with our green tigers! Earth month isn’t over yet though so check engage for our last few events!

Join us TOMORROW, April 27th for our last general meeting of the year!! We will discuss the role of journalism in the modern environmental movement 🌎🎥

Happy Earth Day! Our big clothing swap is today at Lowry mall from 11-2, you don’t need to bring clothes (but feel free to) and celebrate Earth Day with a closet update that’s sustainable!

Do you have a lot of non-disposable electronic waste? Bring your old or unwanted phones, PCs, wires/cords, batteries, and other waste to the Student Center Monday April 27th and we will properly recycle and dispose it!

If you are unable to make our collection window, a bin will be left in the Center of Student Involvement from 9-5 Tuesday, April 28th- Friday, May 1st.

If you have any larger electronics, please contact (573) 988-8551 for pickup instructions. All proceeds made from the drive will be donated back to the Columbia community.

*E-waste refers to electronic products that are unwanted or no longer working but contain materials and toxic chemicals that become hazardous when placed in landfills.

From C4C to our Garden Workday, Sustain was busy learning about water monitoring, cleaning up along our streams, and community service. Thank you to everyone who participated and we hope to see you at this week‘s events as well! 🌞🍃

At our General Meeting this week, we discussed sustainable businesses! We talked about the importance of creating impact at the producer-level and had a special guest- Leah, the owner of the Clean Refill🫧🌱♻️

We had a very successful food week! We toured COMO Cooke on Friday, were joined by CCUA, had a sustainability and food talk, along with a farmers market!
