Our mission is to provide a platform for students, all majors, undergraduate and graduate, who have an interest to learn or work in a rural setting.

Our topics include healthcare, economy, education, culture, policy, and government.

Our exec team had a wonderful time volunteering with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation at SC Black Pride Week this past Saturday! AHF is a great organization and we hope to work with them more in the future!
(Also shout out to our Treasurer and Secretary for winning an Amazon Fire stick and an awesome hat!)

A big shout out to Dr. Barfield and Dr. Bookstaver for coming to speak to us on campus at Russel House last night about the barriers for patients and their experience in a rural healthcare setting and pharmacy! Make sure to check them out on twitter :

First service project completed this Friday at Harvest Hope Food Bank! The members of RIG came out and helped prepare food bags for those in need. Thanks everyone for all the support and keep an eye out as we prepare for next semester!

2nd meeting at Rural Interest Group was a success!!! We were fortunate enough to have Professor Eisenberg from the USC School of Law come speak with us about rural economic opportunities and how laws affect them.
