Kindergarten Families: We Heard Your Questions!
We know many kindergarten families have been asking, "What is a Modified Kindergarten Schedule?" We hope this helps explain what to expect as your child begins their kindergarten journey!
To help our newest learners have a smooth start, kindergarten students will begin the school year on a modified schedule. During the first three days of school(August 25, August 26, August 27), kindergarten students will not attend a full school day. Instead, each child will come to school for a scheduled one-on-one visit with their teacher.
During this visit:
🍎 Your child will meet their teacher in a calm, welcoming environment.
📚 Teachers will complete beginning-of-the-year activities and assessments.
👨👩👧 A parent or guardian will stay with their child for the entire visit.
This modified schedule gives our youngest learners the opportunity to become comfortable in their new classroom while allowing teachers to get to know each child before the full class begins.
📞 Beginning the week of July 27, Ms. Houser will contact families to schedule their child's one-hour visit.
🎒 All kindergarten students will begin attending school for a full day on Friday, August 28.
