AHA PALS 1 Day Initial Certification October 4, 2016 9 AM to 9 PM at Saving American Hearts 63 East Spaulding Avenue Suite E-115 Pueblo West, Colorado 81007. (INCLUDES Provider Manual E-Book) (There is also an option for those who already have a book. If you don't need a book, the course is only $200) We also teach ACLS, ACLS EP, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, PHTLS, AMLS and have instructor classes for most courses!!! Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The cost of this course is $275. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is classroom-based and works well for learners who prefer group interaction and instructor feedback while learning skills. The PALS Course has been Co-branded with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The PALS Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active participation The Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency Course Content: 1- and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED use 1- and 2-rescuer infant CPR Cardiac, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations Key changes in pediatric advanced life support, reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Management of respiratory emergencies Resuscitation team concept Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy Systematic Approach to Pediatric Assessment Vascular access Students who successfully complete the PALS Course, including the following components, will receive a PALS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for two years: Your AHA PALS Card will be mailed to you, to the address you provide in class. Our main office is in Colorado Springs, so we just print and mail the cards to our Pueblo office. Typically, they arrive in 3 days. To successfully complete the course you will actively participate in, practice and complete all learning stations. Complete the closed-book written exam with a minimum score of 84%. AHA has created the AHA Student Website at www. heart. org/ eccstudent, which allows students and Instructors access to the online PALS Precourse Self-Assessment tool. To access the AHA Student Website, students and Instructors will need an access code, which is provided on page ii of the PALS Provider Manual and PALS Instructor Manual.
