Communications are the first thing to fail when infrastructure goes down.

Welcome to the new Tactical and Urban Self-Reliance home of The Survival University

Most of you know us as one of the leaders in wilderness survival training. We’ve spent years teaching people how to start fires in the rain, build shelters in the mountains, and navigate when the GPS fails. That side of TSU isn’t going anywhere. It’s what put us on the map.

But not everyone gets lost in the woods. Most people live in cities and suburbs, and when emergencies hit, it’s the urban jungle that feels the scariest. Power outages, protests, supply chain meltdowns, crime, or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. These are the moments when everyday people suddenly realize how unprepared they are.

That’s why we’re launching this page.
Here you’ll find the urban and tactical side of The Survival University. Our team is a blend of ex-military Special Forces, executive protection professionals, and everyday people from corporate America who just happen to have a very particular set of skills. In other words, we’re normal folks with some not-so-normal training to share.

This isn’t about fear. It’s about confidence, capability, and community. Whether it’s learning situational awareness, self-defense, urban survival skills, or how to keep your family calm during chaos, we’re here to pass along knowledge that can make the difference when it matters most.
