Come experience what learning looks like at Spruce Community School, a new project-based school coming to the Colorado Springs area!

Join us for a hands-on family evening where children will dig into the science of plants and explore the seed cycle, seed dispersal, parts of a plant, and why plants matter in our world. Kids will think like scientists, plant their own seeds, and paint a pot to take home.

A wonderful chance to enjoy the outdoors, see project-based learning in action, and meet the team behind Spruce Community School.

Meet our Director of Students and Family Services, Elizabeth Duthoy! She is a self-proclaimed landlocked mermaid with the biggest heart. She reminds us all of the importance of creativity and to look for the beauty in everyday moments. She is a brilliant artist and orchestrates professional art opportunities for our students. We are so excited to have her energy, care, and dedication to ensuring every child grows into a creative thinker and kind community member.

Spruce Community School will be inside Pulpit Rock Church at 303 Austin Bluffs Parkway. This space has nurtured students for over two decades.

When I toured early this year, I could feel it immediately: tremendous learning is going to happen here. It was one of those rare, pinch-me moments in founding a school. The kind that feels too good to be true.

There’s a beautiful Spruce tree right at the entrance, welcoming our families home. Inside, wooden trees line the halls with magnetic name holders for each student, so every single child knows: they belong here.

I can’t wait to fill these spaces with laughter, curiosity, and community. 💚
