Beginning next year, Utah will require OHV users (both in-state and out-state, owners and renters) to complete a one-time OHV education course. The online course is free and designed to help educate users about local OHV laws, safety and sustainability to help protect Utah's off-road trails!
Here's some helpful information:
-Licensed drivers of registered full-size passenger vehicles are NOT required to take the course.
-It is for OHVs only. Type I, II, III and Off-Highway Motorcycles.
-A Type III vehicle is anything not defined as the other OHVs (Type I and Type II) and cannot be registered as a motor vehicle, such as a rock buggy
More information will be available in the near future from the Utah Off-highway Vehicle Program! Contact the Utah OHV Program or Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation with questions.
What a weekend! I want to give everyone that came down to Indy help with our trail maintenance project a huge thanks. Everyone worked their butts off, and we killed it. We got all the new signage up, unstacked/moved countless tons of rock, and did general cleanup (trash wise the trail was actually really clean). It never ceases to amaze me how much rock gets stacked in, and all the “off trail” driving has gotten really bad.
Hopefully the word will get out for people to stay on the designated route, and that there are no alternate routes. It would also be great if it could be left challenging, and not get all stacked up again, but we know that won’t happen.
Huge thanks to Mike, Dwayne, Branden, Jessica, Bubba, C**t, Kaetlyn, Kevin, Donna, Allen, Johnathan, Jordan, Erin, Addison, Kellan, Chris, Kenny, Mike, David, Sam, Trevor, Tim, Jenny, Jack, and Kara and Kevin from the BLM Royal Gorge Field Office. We had an amazing group down there on a mission to get the trail back to being challenging again.
