Dual Sport Essentials

As we all know, Colorado has seen a major drought this year. The conditions are already dry and will be until it rains or snows which allows for earlier riding and lower run off and water crossings. Two things to keep in mind are spark arrestors in your exhaust and brake pads that are new or in good condition to prevent metal on metal sparks. The burn area photo is at Longwater Gulch in the Hayman burn scar area, which is a popular moto riding area. That fire was caused by non-motorized, human carelessness but still very sad. The second photo is at Lake Dillon. I grew up there and never saw the water so low.

You would have thought that Chuck Norris would pay a visit to the grim reaper, but unfortunately it happened the other way around.

Our flagship pride and joy riders group, Adventure Riders of Colorado, (ARC) begins our 10th year today!

ARC is the premier rider’s connection group and social media source for Colorado, the most popular adventure riding market in the United States. I founded and have directed ARC since 2016 alongside some incredible other admins. I was born, raised, and remain in Colorado. I bring an unmatched level of longevity, commitment, and enthusiasm for riding in Colorado. I've been riding adventure and dual sport and dirt across Colorado since before the terms became industry and marketing cliches.

My riding story began at 8 years old in March 1979 alongside my dad and brothers in the mountain town of Silverthorne. Starting at the time of getting my drivers and motorcycle license in 1987, I began riding long days spanning several Colorado counties on terrain varying from pavement, dirt roads, forest service roads, 4x4 roads and singletrack trails with gear on my back and on my motorcycles.

After decades of riding in Colorado, I saw a need for a professionally managed social media group that would include, encourage, educate, train, and connect riders of all ages, skill levels and bike sizes for all things dirt, dual sport, and adventure riding in Colorado and beyond.

Since ARC’s inception, I've led approximately 550 members / riders from all over the world in ARC group rides. I also established Dual Sport Essentials to teach riding skills for all ages, bike sizes and skill levels to prepare riders for riding diverse Colorado terrain, BDRs and more.
