* an experienced 135 ammy for a 4-5 opponent
* a less experienced 135 ammy for a 1-0 opponent
* and a 185 ammy for a 1-0 opponent
A $250 bonus will be awarded for the KO of the night, and a $500 bonus will be awarded for the Fight of the Night. It's not often you see bonuses offered for ammy fighters! Who's ready?

I got into a conversation with a guy last night who was complaining about the current dating scene and how social media (something that is supposed to make everyone more SOCIAL) is, in his opinion, the cause of our social decline. (How many times have I ranted and raved over this topic on my podcast? 😏)
I laughed out loud when he said, "And the ladies with the false advertising! You get her home and the padded bra comes off, all the magic compression clothes are removed, the heels get kicked off, the painted facial features are rubbed off, the hair extensions are taken out... And the next thing you know you're looking at someone you've never seen before in your LIFE! How are all these ladies not suffering from a self-inflicted identity crisis?!" 😂
And I have to say... I can sympathize with the guy! Now before any of you tee off with your disgruntled comments, think about it! He wasn't even necessarily saying it's the looks that count-- he was saying it's disconcerting to be speaking to someone all night/week/month/etc and then learn that he wouldn't actually be able to pick her out in a line up if she just did the sweats and a ponytail thing.
Yes, getting dressed up and doing your hair and make-up in a way that's not normal for you can be fun, especially if it's for a date. It announces "Hey, take note that I took some extra time to look nice for you because I wanted tonight to be special." In fact, I LOVE getting dolled up for my guy, BUT-- he also gets to see the real me all the time, and that's WHY it announces that it's something special when I get dressed up. 💃
So I'm not saying don't do it, but I AM saying make sure he gets to see the real you too, especially when you're getting to know someone. If a man is worthy enough to see your naked body, he damn well be worthy enough to see your naked face first. It's not about taking a stand on whether or not it's the looks that count-- it's about taking a stand on being willing to show our true authentic selves to one another, not just our dress-up self. Balance. ❤

Everyone is asking me my thoughts on the fight tonight. Well-- my thoughts basically consist of being really excited for it to be done and over with. It's a bit too theatrical and ego driven for my taste, and more about the money and publicity stunt than it is about the sport of boxing which caused me to lose interest before the hype train even really got going. 😐😷😴

I took my boys to go see Nitro Circus last night.. My goodness it was amazing and inspiring. Talk about believing in ! ❤ There were non-stop smiles all around. If you've never watched them live, you're missing out. Seriously-- it's a must see live event even if this stuff isn't really your thing. Trust me.

It felt SO good to get back in the gym yesterday to start prioritizing my own sanity again ❤ I'm an all in person, and so the concept of balance has always been a difficult one for me. I tend to immerse myself fully in whatever has my attention at the time, be that training, coaching, going to school, or other career pursuits outside of the combat sports industry. While I want to do it all, it's hard for me to do more than one at a time because I'm a singularly focused person. SO-- after requiring surgery on my hand, I started coaching more (a LOT more) and training less (a LOT less) and I forgot how dependant my overall quality of life is on me remaining active and in at least semi-decent shape. And so, as I huffed and puffed through my workout yesterday, I also found a ridiculous amount of satisfaction in being back in the gym.

Some of 's Muay Thai Tribe at today's in-house smoker! ❤ One of the first things I realized about this group of people when I started coaching here last summer was how they truly support and care about one another's goals in this shared interest we all have. There's no ego. No eliticsm. No cliques. Just genuine support and encouragement for each other no matter what stage of the journey they're each at, and THAT my friends is pretty fu***ng cool to find. Thanks for allowing me a place in your journeys! 😘

Tien and Jed both did wonderful at the in-house muay thai smoker today! It was a first time experience for both of them and both were full of well deserved smiles afterwards. I'm glad I was there to corner them and get a front row seat to witness their first steps along this next leg of their striking journies 😊 Well done today gentlemen! 👏

My goodness I sure do love the hour I get to spend with these little weirdos every day. They get excited about muay thai with me and let me show them how to punch and kick stuff, so that means they're my people. ❤
