Over her time in ProRodeo, Carlee Otero has learned what it takes to compete at a high level.

She had three qualifications to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo over four years starting in 2011, then didnโ€™t return to Las Vegas again for a decade. That 10-year hiatus helped the cowgirl reflect on what she loves about the game.

She finished the 2024 campaign sixth in the world standings, placing in six rounds despite a cracked pelvis she suffered at the NFR. A year ago, she landed fifth on the final money list, and sheโ€™s hoping the momentum is rolling after her win last weekend at the Music City Rodeo in Nashville.

Regional Accents Are Making a Comeback Thanks to Social Media 05/29/2026

Often considered a southern and western United States sport or event, the WPRA and ProRodeo stretches from Alaska to Florida, and Maine to California - we were thrilled to see WPRA Barrel Racer Lisa Lockhart catch a little recognition during this Today Show segment on Regional Accents. No matter where you are from, be sure to sport that regional accent proud during your next winner's interview! It sure is cool to be a cowgirl!

Regional Accents Are Making a Comeback Thanks to Social Media When Boston Globe reporter Emily Sweeney posted a video about a robbery, her New England accent stole the spotlight and generated more than three million views across TikTok and Instagram. While recent research indicates some accents are fading across parts of the South, experts say the recent fasci...
