Anyone else have grandparents, great grandparents, or just knew a member of your community that could "pull fire" or "stop blood" with a bible verse? If not, have you ever heard of this before?

I come from a long line of healers. My roots in Appalachia (Wayne Co., West Virginia, to be exact) run deep. My ancestors were the ones some would consider to be "granny witches" or "mountain witches". They were healers, using nature and faith, to treat and heal their families and community. I have an obsession with my link to this history, my ancestry, the knowledge my ancestors possessed and the skills they practiced, but sadly did not pass down to my parents' nor my generation. I greatly regret not seeking this knowledge when my grandparents were alive. I think that is a major part of the pull to this path...my ancestors want me on this journey. They are calling me home, to my roots.
Any of my fellow witches have this connection? Anyone have any "home remedies" they remember from childhood that would fall under what could be considered "witchcraft" or what some call "conjuring"?
