Shake it like a Polaroid picture sister!
Shaking reduces cortisol by discharging pent-up physical energy from the fight-or-flight response, completing the body’s natural stress cycle, and signaling the nervous system to switch from high alert into a calm, parasympathetic state.
It’s a quadruple hitter for nervous system regulation:
•Discharges adrenaline: Quick physical tremors burn off excess stress hormones that accumulate in the muscles during a rush of anxiety.
•Completes the stress cycle: Animals shake instinctively after a threat passes to signal safety; humans can mimic this to release stored survival energy.
•Relaxes tight muscles: Bouncing and shaking loosen contracted fibers in areas like the hips and shoulders, which stops the physical feedback loop of stress to the brain.
•Activates the vagus nerve: Rhythmic movement and focused exhales stimulate the rest-and-digest system, lowering your heart rate and dropping cortisol production.

🚨 Is your nervous system dysregulated?? If it is, ALL the other things you’re trying to do to achieve well-being won’t work as well, if at all.
Here’s ONE way you can check your nervous system health:
Your VAGUS NERVE is KEY for nervous system, digestive and hormone health!
The vagus nerve originates in the brain stem & branches off to the ear, mouth, throat & the majority of your organs 🫀🫁🧠
Specifically to this reel, the vagus nerve, together with the glossopharyngeal nerve, innervates the soft palate in your mouth.
One such way to assess uvula deviation & soft palate movement & in turn vagus nerve function is the “Ah, Ah, Ah test”
Here’s how to do it:
1️⃣ Get in front of a mirror or camera on your phone, keep your tongue at the base of the mouth.
2️⃣ Simply make the sound ah, ah, ah! 👅
How to interpret what you see?
When the vagus nerve is functioning optimally you will see the uvula remains vertical & lifts up & both sides of the soft palate lift up equally.
When vagus nerve for example on the left side is weaker than the right, you will notice the uvula deviating to the stronger right side & the soft palate on the right side lifting higher than the left.
If both left & right side vagus are weak then the uvula wont lift at all!

Welcome to the most regulated place on the internet! The place where you can exhale.
This is the side of internet where overwhelm turns into peace, were performance turns into rest, where stress melts away like butter on a hot stove. The place where survival mode turns into thriving mode.
It all starts with a deep breath. Let your shoulders drop. And exhale.
Here’s by three favorite micro regulation strategies that will help you feel good immediately to get you started:
🤍 Try a 10 second breath. Breathe all you air out. Then breathe in for a count of 4. Breathe out for a count of 6. Do that 3 more times.
🤍 Stand up and shake. Shake your whole body (like shake it off. Shake every part of your body for 10 second while you exhale.
🤍 Hum! Like you sing along to the radio but hum instead. This activated your vagus nerve and helps you shift out of fight or flight. The more your chest vibrates while you hum, the better.
If you feel like you’re stuck in survival mode and you’re ready to get out, comment “QUIZ” and I’ll send you a free 3-minute nervous system assessment that will help show you the path to feeling more regulated.
If you’re just ready to feel more regulated today, comment “RESET” and I’ll send you the full 28 day nervous system reset.

A deregulated nervous system is a nervous system that feels perpetually unsafe. Joy, fun, play, those all take vulnerability and if we are going to be vulnerable, we have to feel safe.
Most of my life I’ve lived measured. Because my brain and body were always scanning the horizon for the next threat. Trying to keep me safe, trying to protect me.
But somatic safety (meaning feeling safe in our own bodies, in our own environments, in our own lives) is the foundation of everything else. Without safety it’s hard to access joy. It’s hard to access purpose, and meaning it’s hard to access connection to ourselves, to God, to friends, or even to our partners.
SAFTEY HAS TO COME FIRST.
Once we have that, joy, purpouse, meaning, fulfillment come! And they come a lot easier!!!
Maybe you’ve had moments of joy, but they feel few and far between. Or maybe you’ve had moments of joy, but you felt like you had to work to make them happen. That my friend, is called a regulated nervous system. I know because I’ve lived with one for 37 years.
And having spent the last six months focusing exclusively on my nervous system it honestly feels like a miracle.
If you feel like you’re stuck in survival mode, but you don’t know why or you don’t know how to get out, comment QUIZ and I’ll send you my three minute nervous system assessment that will help you understand what’s got your body stuck.
If you’re just ready to exhale, you know you want a regulate your nervous system and you don’t know how, comment RESET and I’ll send you the 28 day reset that will help you start to regulate your nervous system.
Joy doesn’t have to be hard Sister. And life doesn’t have to be all suffering. There’s a way out. Hit follow and I’ll show you the way 🤍

Ball up your fists and take a deep breath my friend. 🤍When anxiety makes you feel trapped in your own head, gently tapping your body from your toes to your head can help your nervous system back home.
This simple bottom-up practice helps you reset:
🌱Feet to Legs: Wakes up dense nerve endings to instantly anchor your awareness and ground you.
🌱 Torso to Shoulders: Releases hidden tension stored in your muscles while boosting circulation.
🤍 Neck & Face: Overrides your brain’s fight-or-flight alarm, lowering cortisol and signaling that you are safe.
Clinical research from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) shows that somatic tapping therapies modulate threat responses in the brain and lower stress hormones.
Give this gentle reset right now, and save this post for whenever you need a soft place to land.
